Maryland offers a wealth of scholarship opportunities at the local, regional, and state levels. Below is a carefully curated list to help you get started on your scholarship journey!
Local Scholarships (County & City-Specific)
The Greater Washington Urban League Scholarships – For students in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia area.
Howard County NAACP Scholarship – Available to high school seniors in Howard County, MD.
The Baltimore Community Foundation Scholarships – Multiple scholarships for students from Baltimore City and County.
Prince George’s County Promise Scholarship – Helps students from Prince George’s County attend community college.
Montgomery County Business & Professional Women’s Scholarship – For Montgomery County women returning to college.
Regional Scholarships (Maryland & Surrounding States)
Jack & Jill of America Eastern Region Scholarships – Open to students in the Eastern Region, including Maryland.
Mid-Atlantic Security Traders Foundation Scholarship – For students from Maryland, D.C., and Virginia pursuing business-related degrees.
Washington Regional Transplant Consortium Legacy of Life Scholarship – Available to students in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia who submit an essay on organ donation.
Statewide Scholarships (Maryland Residents Only)
Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) Scholarships – Offers a variety of need-based and merit-based scholarships.
Delegate and Senatorial Scholarships – Awarded by Maryland state legislators; students must apply through their representatives.
The College Bound Foundation Last Dollar Grant – For Baltimore City public school students with financial need.
Maryland 529 State Contribution Program – Helps Maryland families save for college with state-matching funds.
Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship – Covers tuition for eligible students attending community college.
