Description: Fighting a disease requires more than a legal “Strong Arm,” it requires a dedicated team of medical staff, loved ones, and countless more. Fighting leukemia requires determination, drive, and diligence in both the patient and the patient’s loved ones. Often, the battle is a solitary one, isolating the patient and family. Our firm associates recognize this. That’s why we are delighted to offer the annual John Foy and Associates “Strong Arm” Leukemia Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a high-achieving student who has battled leukemia or whose life has been affected by it. Description: As an advocate for language studies and on-to-go education, Ling is pleased to announce its scholarship program, Learning Beyond Borders. Scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility and the applicant’s personal statement. Applicants must have a year-two status and above and are currently enrolled in an approved 4-year university. Applicants must be citizens of the USA, UK, Australia, or Canada, or have registered at an educational institution located in one of these countries. They must be accepted into the study abroad program by the application deadline. Students planning to study abroad in a non-English speaking country are preferred but not required. Applicants may submit either a written essay or a video essay. For the video essay, students must record a 5-7 minute video addressing one of the following prompts: (1) Describe a challenging moment you faced (academically or personally). Discuss how you overcame that challenge and what you learned from it. (2) What do you hope to gain by studying abroad? (3) What is the spoken language of the country you’ll be studying in?
